| MATERIALS: 1 slab crappy marble paint CONSTRUCTION LOG 070224.16 Grabbed a slab big enough to support the Galileo and suggest some more room. An exotic landscape was the first thought. However, anything smaller than River Bed, would appear unnaturally cramped. 070610.02 As Med Bay took a great leap towards completion, I pulled out the gray slab I had painted all those months ago. It will need a landing circle and a yellow outerbox. I should also suggest the elevator lip. In anticipation of getting an accuratizing kit for the shuttle, I assembled the outer hull with the light panel inside, inverter and cable on the outside. Placing these around gives me an idea of where I will need to drill the wiring holes in the slab. I will also now need a matched underpanel to cover the exposed wiring -which also means I will need the magnetic strips for cohesion and the need to do some precision cutting. Imperial Base was easy as I had two matched slabs waiting for each other. Not so now. A hinge mechanism is also feasible depending on how the precision screws like the masonite. Easy stuff apart from the gouging I'll have to do on the underside (which should come next before any painting as the top is guaranteed to get scuffed up. The transformer will be painted as a storage unit. May put a couple other boxes in as well to fledge things out. There's room. Up until arranging things earlier, I'd jsut figured the shuttle would be deadcenter as well as the landing circle, It is now guaranteed to be off center. A far better aesthetic. Trick: Shoot the final piece from particular angles. Get as much ref shots of the hangar bay as possible, project those onto some geometry, print and use as diorama bg wallpaper! Also, print many angled outputs for different viewer perspective points! -Could create slots fo rthe papers to drop into for easy changeovers! |
