When I got 1701 Cutaway, I opened up this box and had a look at how to combine them. The next night I cut some pieces apart. Did all assembly and surgery on fri night/Sat, finishing Sat night and put away until I can get to it.
Took all interior parts from the Cutaway and went through the greeblie box, finding a few possibilities. WIll need to weight the 2ndary hull down. Not attaching engines, just clear sprue representing the engine cores. The spine is open to the neck and the warp crystal on the Primary hull will be drilled away.
I cut many, many holes into the body. Looking for more interior junk so that I can open more holes in the hull. For the present, I must fill the holes I now have with stuff before cutting new holes.
Th eventual goal is a drydock around it, but the ship is easiest to tackle now at this point.
Did far more than I would have guessed. I pushed it as far as I initially could,
it is now ready for a fresh look in a few weeks.

In repacking this kit into a new box today, I discovered portions of the hull looked like they were subjected to heat and were semi-melted.
Then I found a few other spots too. It only took another moment to see that the Tamiya putty that I used to fill portions of the interior had done the dirty deed. I will now have to come up with something to hide the offending plastic.
I will post pix of the metled areas when the kit next comes out of hibernation.
