As I had Stegie out, and Ed was in the same box, I gave him a look over, but not much more.  I cut away some excess vinyl around the upper torso and tried piecing him together in my mind. I will need a blueprint.  Didn't do anything else except to lay the parts out.

I wasn't going to do more than slice all the flash off the parts. Then I figured ‘why not just do the main leg assembly?'. Then it became the foot as well. Then the hip... Then it was all over.

He's now sitting in two pieces -top and bottom. I got one extra heel somehow...

After the flash was all sliced, I began stuffing the parts with shredded paper -- an excellent idea! And things just rolled from there. I had him entirely stuffed in one night’s session, which ended around 2 a.m. The left hip is a little dodgy, but it should be good.

He now needs major priming. There is some minor work on the back I have to do, but the whole is otherwise complete.

The arms and shoulder flaps are movable. I glued the hips into place and considering the weight, it may need reinforcement. I may still be able to have the body rotating on the hips, but I will likely need to glue that into place.

This is a big kit. I gotta find a good place to display it. No base is needed as the feet and balance are quite adequate. A sound chip would be a good addition to this one!

So, with some minor bodywork, priming, essentially this one is next in the airbrush pile. I have to dig up some color reference though first! I'm guessing he was a basic silver, but an underlying brass could be a nice accent.

Need to dig up reference, but is otherwise ready for the airbrush.

Still need ref!

I rec'd some superior ref photos a few weeks ago from Lunadude.  Thanks man!

I have to make a detailed study of the photos as I am so unfamiliar with Ed's color scheme. I had thought it was brown or a blue/gray.  But Ed is primarily white with black and some spot colors.  Go figure!  The next time the airbrush pipeline ramps up, he is in it!

Given that he is base white, I gave him some blasts of 'Rustoleum white metal primer'.  Looks great!  can't wait to bring him to completion!
