Yez-o-yez-o-yez-o-yezzzzz!
A couple years ago, I had heard, in addition to all it's other awesomeness, that this kit was about 1/350 in scale. At the time I was also looking at Tamiya's 1/350 CVN-65 as an interesting match. Well, having got the Big E the other day, and now getting this too, things portend well for times to come!
I also pictured Big G w/ the 1701 Enterprise as that is also 1/350. A fight in deep space perhaps. I wager Godzilla @ 2 to 1 odds over 1701 (or 10 to 1 on the Big E for that matter).
In the last 3 seconds, I dropped over twice what the highest bidder had on this kit -and still got it delivered for under $35! Nice.
I'm looking forward to this one! it should be mailed tomorrow!

Shipped yesterday!
Further research suggests that this kit is likely closer to 1/250.
Bandai specifically released a 1/350 of Big G and it was closer to 12", not the 16" that this kit is.
Comparing this kit to train scale is the best clue. N Scale @ ~1/144 is far too large. Z is reportedly still a bit big @ 1/220, but awfully close.
Still, he can go well with each of the Enterprises.

Arrived today and what a massive box! I've read elsewhere that the details around the seams are soft. I can agree with that. Dry fitting most of the pieces reveals that many of the seams are ok to not-so-okay.
The seams will require the best putty job I've done yet. If it were possible to cast his spikes in a clear resin, it would be great for lighting him up, that's for sure! Lights would be nice for this one, but are unlikely considering. Otherwise, I will consider some kind of floursecant or uv paint.
The diorama pieces are cool. Completing the diorama are cut-outs from the box. A nice touch.
I've read that z scale trains are very close to the proper scale, but still a little too large. I will bring one of the cars down to a train store and see what comes close. I may get some track and add that to the whole thing. But G can also fo with the CVN-65 too.
